People, Traditions, and the Living Mountain
Developed during an artist residency within the “Aldeias de Montanha” program, this project explores the essence of daily life and rural resilience in Videmonte. Through close collaboration with local residents, I documented their routines using photography, video, and collage.
The residency culminated in a series of permanent public art panels with integrated QR codes, merging physical support with digital media. These interactive collages link the village’s stone walls to video narratives, creating a lasting archive of the community. Originally inaugurated during the 2023 Festival do Pão, these works now stand as a definitive tribute to the residents, honoring the eternal pulse of mountain life.
Desenvolvida no âmbito do programa “Aldeias de Montanha”, esta residência artística explora a essência do quotidiano e a resiliência rural de Videmonte. Através de uma colaboração estreita com os residentes, o projeto documenta rotinas e saberes locais através de fotografia, vídeo e colagem.
A intervenção culminou numa série de painéis de arte pública que fundem o suporte físico com o digital. Através de códigos QR integrados, as colagens interativas ligam o espaço público a narrativas de vídeo, criando um arquivo vivo da comunidade. Inaugurada durante o Festival do Pão (2023), estas obras servem como uma homenagem ao pulso vibrante da vida na montanha.
