Research and Art Creation in a Rural Community: Bravo, Sertã

In May 2022, I took part in an art residency in the remote village of Bravo, focusing on documenting the daily lives of its residents, with a specific focus on women working in agriculture and caring for their families.

The project, developed as part of the Festival Literário Maratona de Leitura da Sertã, in partnership with the Câmara Municipal da Sertã, reflects the community’s profound resilience and dedication. The residency culminated in an exhibition featuring video, photography, and artworks that gave voice to those realities.

Social responsibility is not only a political duty—it belongs to all of us. This project pays a heartfelt tribute to those who remain silent in the face of such brave realities.
