Developed between March and June 2024, this visual intervention in the village of Penina focused on observing a territory in active transformation. New residents — Portuguese and foreign — arrive, settle, open businesses, bring different practices. They coexist with generations who have always been there and sustain oral traditions still alive. They don’t share the same time, but they inhabit the same space — and care for it together.
From photography and video, a series of visual compositions was created to translate this overlap: the daily life of the people who make the village work, the routines that intersect, the identities in transit. The intervention was installed in public space during local festivities, celebrating those who build and care for this place.
The project was part of the cultural programming for the Loulé Municipal Galleries and the Geoparque Algarvensis (UNESCO Candidacy).

Desenvolvida entre março e junho de 2024, esta intervenção visual na aldeia da Penina centrou-se na observação de um território em transformação activa. Novos habitantes — portugueses e estrangeiros — chegam, instalam-se, abrem negócios, trazem práticas diferentes. Convivem com gerações que sempre ali estiveram e que sustentam tradições orais ainda vivas. Não partilham o mesmo tempo, mas habitam o mesmo espaço — e cuidam-no juntos.
A partir de fotografia e vídeo, foi criada uma série de composições visuais que traduzem esta sobreposição: o quotidiano das pessoas que fazem a aldeia funcionar, as rotinas que se cruzam, as identidades em trânsito. A intervenção foi instalada no espaço público durante as festividades locais, celebrando quem constrói e cuida deste lugar.
O projeto integrou a programação cultural das Galerias Municipais de Loulé e do Geoparque Algarvensis (Candidatura UNESCO).
