Bordado collection was imagined after seeing embroidery art on textile photography prints.
So, I learned cross stitch techniques and applied it on my paper collages.
I love food: its shapes, patterns, layers, colors and smell. It’s not the first time, and it won’t be the last, that I’ve worked with images of fruit and vegetables. The Food collection imagines and transforms food into cheerful, lively and humoristic characters.
All the pieces evoke my quiet and childlike side.
My work has more female images than male ones. I don’t know if I’m conscious of this choice, or if it’s a result of seeing most magazines advertise only women’s bodies. Regardless of the reason, I created Mulheres collection with images from 50s and 60s magazines.
And like any other collage of my own, this collection is filled with cheerful, lively and humoristic characters.
